Mook, the digital creative agency, has been commissioned to create a website for the largest exhibition ever devoted to the work of Vivienne Westwood. The site, which launches in three phases, will promote and support the Vivienne Westwood retrospective exhibition at the V&A, held between 1st April and 11th July.

"Pictures of key designs by Vivienne Westwood in the exhibition will be the focus of the website. There will be simple typography and a vibrant, uncomplicated feel," said Jess Goodall, joint creative director at Mook.

The exhibition is the largest the V&A has ever dedicated to a British designer and will feature more than 150 designs mainly selected from the V&A's collection and Vivienne Westwood's personal archive. The show will examine Westwood's career from the 1970s to the present day.

Westwood has been a major influence on fashion design from haute couture to ready-to-wear. Her career has spanned the punk era including outfits worn by the Sex Pistols in the 70s to grand ball-gowns influenced by historical art and dress.

The first phase of the website launches at the end of January 2004.
