Launching today, the site integrates new technology and offers an improved
user experience which will increase traffic and conversions to's

The eleven-month project included consumer research, design by Start
Creative and in-house build, testing and development at a total cost
exceeding £1million. The site's accessibility and usability is improved and
contextual help offers advice at key stages to help consumers through the
comparison and switching process. The new site is optimised for search
engines and supported with TV, radio and print advertising as well as paid
search and affiliate marketing.

Commenting on the new site, Barry Holloway Marketing Director says, 'We have

channel with a distinct identity including consistent labels, illustrations
and colour coding. The redesign has focused on enhancing the performance of
the personal finance and communications channels in particular.

Mike Curtis, Managing Director at Start Creative adds, 'The new site has
more personality and empathy. The unique illustrations offer a visual
language and the quality of the design and features such as contextual help,
the call centre number and consistency with the advertising provide a sense
of security that reassures customers when switching. With eleven months of
user group and concept testing, the designs were evolved through an
iterative process to ensure the final product will offer a deeper engagement
with customers and encourage them to come back to the site to switch other
products and recommend the service to friends.'

The comparison and switching calculators on have been
reengineered with key functions consolidated to reduce the number of clicks
to switch, core switching motivators highlighted and clearer data tables
presenting the results of a comparison. They are integrated with the
suppliers in order to present a seamless switching experience for the
