CAMBRIDGE, UK (13 November 2006) – Zeus Technology, the leading provider of extensible application traffic management software, has announced that STA Travel, one of the world’s leading travel retailers, has chosen Zeus Technology’s ZXTM solution to help accelerate delivery of website content to its worldwide network of offices and local websites.

Following a number of years of sustained growth, STA Travel recently decided to centralize its many local web presences, implementing a single content management system. This greatly reduced the company’s operational costs and enabled it to ensure consistency of style and content across each localized website.

When the new system went live, however, STA Travel found that some remote branch offices often experienced performance issues such as reduced connectivity and slower page loading times, due to their geographic distance from the content management system. As online services forms a key part of STA Travel’s revenue generation, the company decided it needed a web traffic management solution to accelerate the delivery of content to these local sites.

STA Travel selected Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager (ZXTM) to improve the speed and performance of its regional websites by accelerating the content delivered from its central datacenter, as well as improving local website traffic management and load balancing capabilities.
ZXTM provided the solution, deployed on a Utility Computing platform based on Egenera BladeFrame systems. ZXTM’s load balancing and caching capabilities brought the content closer to the end user in the Pacific region.
