UK startup will harness and leverage new affordable Internet technologies for “the little guy”

Sheffield, UK. 31st of October, 2006 – UK startup CreateMyNet Limited (CMN) announced today that a pre-launch or beta version of their web-based application for communication, interaction and collaboration will be released on the 15th of November 2006.

The application is currently a working prototype or alpha version which is being tested for usability and functionality by a closed user group; however it is possible to register for the beta launch at www.createmynet.com.

CMN is a secure portal aimed at small businesses, professional associations, trade associations and individuals. Majority of the services available on createmynet will be offered absolutely free while some premium services will only be available as part of an annual subscription equivalent to a couple of pounds a month.

It is possible to use CMN to build and expand your network of business and professional contacts within the UK and internationally. Thousands of associations and professional bodies are listed within the system as standard and new communities can also be created. Small businesses are also able to use the application to create a community of employees, suppliers and customers.

All communities are managed by the relevant community administrators, however administrators of established professional and trade associations are verified to protect these communities. The system is provided securely using the latest encryption technology to protect data.

The application is effectively an “online desktop” that centralises information management by providing contact management, task management and multiple levels of event and calendar management. Multiple email accounts can be managed from one central location and a private browser allows you to browse the Internet from the CMN website anonymously. News and WeBlogs are also centralised on CMN using the online RSS reader. Important files can also be securely uploaded to the website for storage or back up via the web, this information can also be shared within communities.

Tools for interaction include web conferencing, video messaging, instant messaging and SMS. Wireless Internet, MMS, Fax services and Internet Telephone services (VoIP) will be added in January 2007.

It will be possible to synchronise information between the createmynet website, your computer desktop and your mobile phone.

A powerful and fully optimised marketplace feature allows individuals and companies to list special offers, goods, jobs and more importantly services. The supplier services section will be delivered as an Internet directory allowing registered members and subscribers to benefit from the boom in global online advertising.

Given the features on offer, contextual searching of the site is a specific feature which will be refined in future versions to incorporate specific adverts from subscribers and non-subscribers.
