Nottingham, UK, 5 December 2006 - Automotive dealer groups will be able to manage their own websites at a low cost, thanks to a collaboration between Box UK, an Internet development consultancy and Experian®, the global information solutions company.

The collaboration will provide dealer groups with more flexibility, control and freedom when it comes to managing their own websites – a capability that has previously only been enjoyed by larger organisations due to its complexity and cost.

This is made possible through the integration of Box UK’s content management system, Connetric, with Experian’s AutoLocate service, which enables motor retailers to increase the effectiveness of their online presence and utilise the Internet as a cost-effective sales channel.

The enhanced AutoLocate solution will give dealer groups the ability to make changes and updates to their own websites instead of having to rely on external support, saving themselves a great deal of time and money.

Rob Whalley, Managing Director of Experian’s Automotive division, said: “Dealers today face a range of issues forcing them to rethink how they operate in the market and the Internet is one of them. Experian’s AutoLocate service is already used by some of the UK’s top motor retailers to help them develop a strong online presence and, through our work with clients, we discovered a strong desire among dealers for more flexibility and control of their own websites. This need is now being met with our enhanced AutoLocate solution, incorporating Box UK’s content management system, Connetric.”

James Downes, Project Manager at Box UK, said: "Experian required a content management system as dynamic and flexible as AutoLocate, one that would integrate easily and could be tailored to meet the needs of individual dealer websites. It soon became clear that Connetric best met Experian’s needs.

"Both Box UK’s Connetric and Experian’s AutoLocate are recognised in the industry for quality, flexibility and cost, and bringing the two together will give more dealers enhanced Internet capability. It will enable smaller organisations to benefit from functionality that would previously have been out of their reach."

One of the first dealer groups to see the benefits of this enhanced solution is the Howards Group – a family owned multi-franchise motor group. Selling over 5,000 cars a year, Howards Group operates Peugeot, Honda, Citroën, Nissan and Toyota franchises across Somerset, providing sales, service and parts facilities to the motoring public.

AutoLocate has previously been used by the Howards Group to enhance its online presence and to provide Internet advertising. Experian has now won the contract to redevelop the group’s website into an improved and more interactive site with the new enhanced AutoLocate service, utilising Box UK’s content management system.

Roger Rowlett, Operations Director at Howards Group, said: “Howards was first established in 1972 and has grown into a successful eight site dealership group. We have always worked towards finding the most effective way to increase our impact in the market and our online presence will play a key role in this.

“We recognised the value of being able to control our own website. As the Internet develops, the most effective sites are the ones that provide the most up-to-date and relevant content for their clients. The AutoLocate and Box UK solution gives us this.

Another major benefit of running a content managed site is that we no longer need external support, which saves us both time and money.

“We now have complete control over our site and the flexibility and efficiency this gives us allows us to spend more time selling more cars to more customers.”
