Appointment follows £2.5m private equity investment to support intensive UK marketing drive

Pigsback.com, the reward based consumer website, has appointed former Thomson Directories General Manager (Internet) Brian Harrison as its UK managing director.

This follows the £2.5m backing from Hotbed, the private investor network, announced in October. Brian Harrison has joined the Pigsback.com team to spearhead use of this investment to drive revenue and achieve one million members by end of 2007.

Brian Harrison, Pigsback.com UK managing director comments, “This is a unique opportunity to head up the early stages of ambitious growth for an already proven business model. Pigsback.com’s success in Ireland and the foundations built over the last year in the UK are testament to this. We have numerous initiatives planned over the coming months to accelerate this growth.”

Already the sixth most visited website in Ireland and boasting 29% of the total Irish online marketing spend, Pigsback.com launched successfully in the UK less than a year ago and already has over 350,000 active UK members.

Michael Dwyer, Pigsback.com CEO and founder adds, “Brian’s strong search marketing background will be invaluable as we develop long-term relationships with our members and continue to generate strong revenue for our brand partners. Brian will be building upon this expertise to facilitate open, measurable relationships between brands and our members. Pigsback.com is on the cusp of dramatic growth and Brian is the perfect person to realise its potential.”
