Cimex partnered with sister design agency DRY to create a new web portal for all of Channel 4’s talent development schemes.

The website - www.channel4.com/4talent - aims to encourage innovation and create career opportunities for established and emerging talented individuals.

James Estill, Senior Producer: 4Talent Networks said, “This project was a big ask by any standard. The goal was to amalgamate two highly successful properties – each with their own set of audience expectations - into one, comprehensive, concise yet dynamic resource. Two elements – Information Architecture and simplicity of design – were the key components to a successful delivery. Both were expertly addressed and project-managed by the Cimex team.”

Cimex designed and integrated the separate Channel 4 sites IDEASFACTORY and 4Talent into a one-stop-shop for work, individual training & development and corporate development opportunities across Channel 4 and the wider audio-visual industries.

The objective of the redevelopment was to simplify the offering for users, merging two sites into one and re-focussing it around broadcasting and new media delivery platforms. Comedy, Drama, Film, Documentary and Interactive have been specifically prioritised.

The new 4Talent site offers editorial-led inspiration from real life people and organisations, social networking opportunities, showcasing of talent and promotion of online collaborations. The initiative aims to engage with talent from across the UK in a non-patronising way and give creative practitioners valuable and realistic career advice.
