London, 6 April 2006: Internet marketing publisher E-consultancy has joined the UK Association of Online Publishers (AOP), six weeks after launching the third version of its website.

E-consultancy has operated a paid-subscription model since 2003 and has amassed many thousands of subscribers from the internet industry and beyond. Fees start at just £149 per year for individual subscribers.

Principally aimed at internet marketers, E-consultancy’s main focus is to publish best practice reports and internet buyer’s guides. The company also runs public and in-house training courses, as well as matchmaking events such as Supplier Showcases.

E-consultancy has previously been shortlisted by AOP for its annual ‘best business publisher’ award. The website is now used by more than 150,000 internet marketers every month.

AOP membership is open to companies whose principal business model is the creation of unique, published content for direct consumption by consumers, via the web ('destination sites') and other digital platforms.

AOP members will benefit from reduced pricing for E-consultancy’s internet training events (receiving a discount normally reserved for subscribers). Events and training courses will be co-promoted across both organisations.

E-consultancy CEO Ashley Friedlein said: “2006 is shaping up to be a big year for us, with a new site and various initiatives in the offing. Our paid-content model is very successful and we’re happy to be joining the AOP, which has done some great work for the online publishing industry over the past few years.”

AOP Director Alex White said: “The web has seen the emergence of many innovative and successful publishing businesses and I am delighted that E-Consultancy has recognised the benefits of being engaged with AOP. Our members have signalled that training and skills are high priorities for 2006 so E-Consultancy’s contribution in this area will bring added value for existing members.”
