LONDON, UK — In response to the increasing inclusion of BlueLithium’s behaviourally targeted ad network on advertisers’ media plans, the company has appointed Nerissa McDonald as Head of Sales and Ian Harkess as Creative Services Manager.

BlueLithium has experienced phenomenal growth since its launch last year and testament to this is the size of the network, with each piece of inventory being secured on the back of individual advertiser requirements and bookings.

BlueLithium is growing faster than any other network; up 30% since August 2006. This equates to the network reach going from 51% to 65.5% in a single quarter, Q3 2006. BlueLithium is able to offer advertisers access to approximately 20m Unique Users per month. (ComScore Jan 2007)

Reporting into Shirlene Chandrapal, MacDonald will be responsible for setting sales strategy, managing the sales team - which has also grown by 50% in the last 6 months - as well as achieving financial targets and strengthening agency relationships.

This will enable Chandrapal to devote more time to strategy and product marketing and further network development.

Previously Macdonald was Head of Agency Sales at TMN Media where she drove new business, sales strategy, staff training, and the execution of long term deals. She was also was instrumental in selling new lead generation products. Prior to this she was at EDR plc.

Harkess is charged with providing creative resource to BlueLithium’s UK office and planned European business units. This will include marketing collateral as well as delivering advertising campaign creatives and microsite build to clients.

Recently Harkess joins from 24/7 Real Media where he provided design and production expertise for the digital cable TV network, as well as their media, search and technology divisions. He has also held posts at Asite, Hotlizard and BT.

Commenting today on the new hires, Commercial Director Chandrapal said:
“Interest and uptake of behavioural targeting has grown rapidly in the last year but a lot of brands have yet to embrace this. The improvement in performance can be incredible which goes to show that the data does indeed makes all the difference. These key appointments will take the team to the next level in communicating the effectiveness and value of our technology to the digital market place.”

Remarking on her appointment, Macdonald said: “I was attracted to this role at BlueLithium as they have rapidly developed a reputation for outstanding service and for having the best technology in the market. Furthermore, they are the largest independent ad network in the UK, and working with the strong management team I’m excited to be at the forefront of taking them to the next stage”.
