Utarget strengthens team three-fold in line with rapid business development

A plethora of new wins sees the appointment of Robert Black as UtargetTV sales manager

Following Utarget’s venture capital investment of £2.5million earlier this year, the company continues to assert its dominance in the online video advertising arena with three new appointments across the sales and planning and buying divisions.

Robert Black will be responsible for business development across the complete range of UtargetTV products, which include TVsubs, TVcontextual and TVbar. Black will also focus on further establishing the recently launched TVpre-roll network.

Bringing a wealth of new media experience to Utarget, Robert Black, founder of Aura Play (recently acquired by BSkyB), recently moved from eBay, where he worked on the Global Instant Win international marketing promotion. Previous employment includes 3 years as european sales director at Sports.com, and director of the RAP partnership, whose clients include Yahoo! and DMGT Front of Mind.

Francis Turner, sales director for Utarget comments, “Expanding the UtargetTV sales division with such high calibre expertise will prove pivotal in maintaining and accelerating Utarget’s rapid growth. Robert will work closely with key agencies to further develop and establish our recently launched TVpre-roll network.”

The second new recruit to the Utarget team, agency sales manager Steve Broadhead, will work across subs, contextual, bar and interstitial networks. Broadhead will be responsible for growing the traditional side of the business and liaising with key agencies such as Starcom 2, MGOMD and Profero. Steve Broadhead moves to Utarget following three years with Sky.

Utarget’s third appointment, Graeme Lynch, brings four years of expertise to Utarget as head planner and buyer. Previously of OMD UK, Lynch draws on his rich advertising background, to further develop Utarget’s Planning and Buying department.

Phil Cooper, managing director for Utarget comments, “Utarget has grown at a rapid pace over the last year, with a proliferation of new business from Five Life and Five US, Ocean Finance and Redrow Homes, to name a few. As the company continues to expand, the level of expertise and experience that Robert, Steve and Graeme bring to the table will ensure that Utarget remains at the fore of the online advertising industry.”
