Polly Gowers, CEO and co-founder of Everyclick.com, the search engine that helps charities was voted the Entrepreneur of the Year at the Women in Ethical Business Awards 2007. Polly beat off stiff competition from five other nominees to secure the award which celebrates the best female-run ethical business in the UK.

Everyclick.com is just like any other search engine, but donates 50% of its gross revenue to charity. Launched in June 2005 Everyclick has generated in excess of £200,000 for charity. Over 55,000 registered users have made the switch from larger, better known search engines to Everyclick.com in order to support the charity of their choice. Speaking at the award’s ceremony, Triodos Bank Managing Director, Charles Middleton said, “Ethical enterprise is bigger than ever. Inspiring businesses and the entrepreneurs behind them, are meeting the public’s voracious appetite for products that benefit people and the environment. This award celebrates the people behind the cream of this growing ethical crop.”

Everyclick.com’s Polly Gowers said “This caps an amazing two years. Winning this WEBA will help highlight that making a small change to your daily routine can make a massive difference to the cause you care about.”
