The winners of the 2007 Commission Junction University EU Awards were announced at a gala dinner at the end of the first day’s conference held in London on 21 and 22 June.

The successful organisations were chosen from Commission Junction’s portfolio of advertisers and affiliates across the UK, France, Germany and the Nordic region. The awards dinner was hosted by Carl White, CEO, ValueClick Europe and Alison Guise, UK Managing Director, Commission Junction and Mediaplex, and rewarded entrants in three categories: ‘Outstanding individual personal contribution to affiliate marketing’; ‘Exceptional performance in affiliate marketing’; and, lastly, ‘Innovation in affiliate marketing’.

Each category awarded one advertiser and one affiliate the accolade, and the winners are:

Personal contribution to affiliate marketing: these awards are presented to an individual who has demonstrated an enthusiastic commitment to affiliate marketing, are market leaders and build a strong community among online marketers.

Advertiser – Chris Bishop, Head of Online Marketing, Hotel Chocolat
Chris understands that success in this business is all about developing and nurturing productive partnerships, and as a result the company’s program has grown very successfully.

Publisher – Marcus Tandler, CEO, Creativity in Action
This German publisher is one of the world’s best known for search engine optimisation skills. He is well known beyond his local market and is hugely respected for his willingness to share knowledge.

Exceptional performance in affiliate marketing: presented to companies who have proven to have exceptional performance in the Commission Junction network over the last 12 months.

Advertiser – Meetic
This French dating services company operates across 11 markets in Europe and has worked closely with Commission Junction with amazing results. The affiliate program has seen a 300% increase in performance, attracting more new customers than any other activity Meetic does.

Publisher – Swift Solutions
A relatively new affiliate, they have had great success by taking advantage of opportunities presented to them and then making the investments needed to reap the rewards.

Innovation in affiliate marketing: honouring clients for their support to Commission Junction and for their commitment in moving this industry forward.

Advertiser – Superbreak
Superbreak have recognised the need to adopt technology to improve the performance of their affiliate marketing activities. They have utilised eCall’s solution to ensure that when transactions are made via their call centre, their affiliates are rewarded.

Publisher – Traffic Broker
This well known affiliate marketing company has shown their expertise by developing search marketing tools, arranging their organisation to ensure they can engage with advertisers and networks, and recently released an online portal to educate their partners. Much of what they do could become ‘standard’ within this industry in the future.

Many treat business as just that whereas, they forget in this industry is all about the people and their relationships.
