Agency Brand Credentials Enhanced with New Appointments

As a result of several major new client wins, Rufus Leonard has appointed Freddie Baveystock, formerly Strategy & Communications Director at The Nest, as Managing Consultant – Brand. Baveystock was at the St Lukes’s-owned agency for five years, working on signature projects for British Airways, Neal’s Yard Remedies and Rip Curl and handling accounts such as Clarks, Arts Council England, and Nirah (the ‘freshwater Eden Project’). In addition, Rufus Leonard has recruited Designer Stuart Lang and Research Analyst Katie Caputo to its Brands team and has promoted Niamh Spillane, formerly Consultant – Brand, to Senior Consultant.

Before joining The Nest, Baveystock was working on contract to The Big Chill, helping the boutique festival to transform itself into the national event it is today. He led the web strategy and development which was behind much of the growth in the festival’s audience. Baveystock’s appointment will enhance Rufus Leonard’s brand offer and he will work closely with Andrew Pinkess, the agency’s Director of Strategy.

Pinkess commented, “Freddie will add a new dimension to our team with his wealth of consumer experience, both for well-known brands and for smaller, innovative companies. We have recently taken on some new clients who will benefit greatly from his insight and he will be complemented by our strengthened Brands team.”

Baveystock began his career at St Luke’s as a brand planner, where he worked on accounts such as Clarks, Boots and Eurostar. He also took part in the making of the BBC2 documentary ‘Lie Back and Think of England’ which aired in 1999.

Starting out as an academic, Baveystock has lectured in English Literature at the universities of Oxford and Reading and more recently has been a guest lecturer for the London School of Marketing.
