Milton Keynes, 9th August 2007

depo consulting ltd is please to announce the opening of the Dynamo Gallery, situated on the depo business park in Second Life, the three dimensional virtual world. The first exhibition features the work of Hughby Looby, a photojournalist in real life. He is showing an atmospheric collection of black and white images, largely shot on location in Cuba and Hungary. The exhibition will run until mid-October.

Says Hughby Looby, “Second Life presents an opportunity to reach a global audience – but still have the ability to meet with and talk to the visitors to the gallery. To cater for the differing time zones of a global audience we actually held three openings! It was a great success, and I’m told that upwards of 200 avatars attended over the first weekend.”

Live music was streamed from acclaimed jazz pianist Louis Landon in the form of his avatar Louis Volare, who regularly performs live concerts in the virtual world and has a large fan base. Louis is a recording artist and composer based in New York.

The gallery facility, sponsored by depo consulting ltd, was purpose designed by Bennet Dynamo, a real life New York architect, and built by depo on donated space in their Second Life business park. The facility provides the perfect setting for display of the work of visual artists, and will sponsor shows on an ongoing basis.

Architect Bennet Dynamo said “It’s great that my relationship with depo provides the opportunity to sponsor the visual arts in this way. Hughby’s work is stunning and has provided the perfect first exhibition for what we hope will become a cultural focal point within the Second Life community.”
