Orlando, Fla. – Looking to build on the success of its web-based marketing technologies for manufacturers, Channel Intelligence (CI) announces Vik Murty has been named vice president of the SellPath® Manufacturer Solutions product line, a new position in which he will be responsible for further product development and business growth. SellPath® is a proprietary technology that helps direct consumers from a manufacturer’s website to retailers who have a desired item in stock. “Manufacturers today are realizing greater sales and better brand support by connecting with retailers and channel partners more effectively online,” said CI President and CEO Rob Wight. “Vik’s experience on the manufacturing side promises to bring even greater value to our partners, who already include many of the world’s leading manufacturers and retailers.”

A consumer electronics veteran, Murty joins CI from Mitsubishi Digital Television, where he served as senior brand manager and was responsible for brand, product and channel marketing programs, including Mitsubishi’s HDTV online marketing and channel support program. Murty’s experience also includes launching Samsung brand major appliances in the US for Samsung Electronics as a category product manager. He was also manager of sales and distribution for DIRECTV where he managed relationships with key Midwest retailers, and a store manager for Circuit City Stores, Inc.

“Most consumers now initiate their search for products at manufacturers’ websites. This change in the initiation point of commerce creates a unique opportunity for manufacturers to deliver a richer, more satisfying customer experience, as well as capture more sales through better integration with their retailers. It’s an exciting opportunity to be a part of SellPath®,” said Murty.

Murty has a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Managing Technology Intensive Enterprises from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Economics from Bentley College.
