British Gas appoints Steak Media as search agency

British Gas has signed digital marketing agency Steak Media to handle its search marketing business following a competitive pitch against several traditional media agencies, search specialists and digital agencies.

The project is part of a wider strategy to increase sales and retention and improve customer service. British Gas has allocated £10m to promote its Energy, Homecare, Boiler Installation and Green Energy products online.

Gareth Moore, British Gas Head of online sales, said: "Faster and cheaper internet access is driving online growth and this is increasingly important to the energy industry as customers now compare energy prices online. British Gas has ambitious growth targets for its online channel reflecting a new direction in the way the company communicates and interacts with its customers and we are very pleased to be working with Steak Media to deliver these targets."
