Karen Millen, one of UK’s most successful retailers of women’s fashion, is opening its first online store where they will be selling their full range of fashion products, including clothing, jewellery and fashion accessories. This new and innovative web store will be powered by Fresca Commerce, the UK’s leading on-demand e-commerce service from Fresca.

Fresca have been contracted to build a new transactional website for Karen Millen that will take online shopping for fashion items to new levels. The site will focus on allowing the internet shopper to browse and purchase by collections, new items just in, 'look-book' or product types. Fresca’s advanced in-site intelligent search engine and guided navigation will also be provided, enabling search by other product attributes, e.g. colour, size and categories, making it easy to find the right outfit for that special occasion.

Additionally, enhanced product visualisation will be available through Fresca Zoom, a very intuitive and yet extremely valuable on-screen tool to allow enlarged and enhanced views of the products. Enhanced views will be made visible by a simple mouse-over of the item, so no complicated actions! An improved check-out process, an optional ‘favourites saved’ lists and recently viewed items will enhance the online experience and help drive business growth through increased ‘surfer to buyer ratios’.

The Fresca Commerce Platform will fully integrated with Karen Millen’s buying and merchandising system Mercatus (from BT Expedite) and the systems of third party fulfilment partner Amethyst, resulting in the online shopper being able to see in ‘real-time’ product availability, resulting in a seamless customer buying experience and ensuring the items purchased are delivered from available stock . The tight systems integration and this ‘joined up approach’ will deliver a major benefit to Karen Millen in Product Data Management (PDM) by the reduction of time and effort normally associated with a manual PDM processes.

Karen Millen’s key objective for this new site, in cooperation with their international partners and franchise outlets, is to increase the push of the Karen Millen brand globally, driving business growth both through their partner’s stores and online.

Karen Millen’s new collection of luxury lingerie will be available through this new online store, followed by a new swim wear range for 2008.

The new transactional website will go-live September 2007, so don’t miss any launch promotions, watch the news for this exciting online store going live!
