arArthritis Research Campaign launches online gift shop by Pindar Graphics

November 2007 – The Arthritis Research Campaign has launched an online gift shop (at http://shop.arc.org.uk) designed and built by Pindar Graphics (http://www.pindar.com/ecommerce), the e-commerce specialist.

The Arthritis Research Campaign (ARC), founded in 1936, raises funds to promote medical research into the cause, treatment and cure of arthritic conditions; to educate medical students, doctors and allied healthcare professionals about arthritis; and provide information to the general public. ARC is the fourth largest medical research charity in the UK and the only charity in the UK solely dedicated to investigating arthritis in all its forms. Millions of pounds are provided every year for grants funding research, education and training.

The online gift shop at http://shop.arc.org.uk is full of all year round unique gift ideas including a variety of calendars, diaries, books on CD, stationery and garden gifts. The website also features special offers as well as popular Christmas gift ideas in the form of Christmas cards, Christmas accessories, gift bags and seasonal wrapping paper. It is designed to be used as a complementary sales channel to ARC’s catalogue which has a distribution of over 200,000.

The website features:

• Full integration of product, stock and ordering with ARC’s fulfillment house
• Tools for managing the catalogue, product range and promotions online
• Easy and straightforward shopping for existing and new customers alike
• Integration within ARC’s main site and design synergy with its branding

“Feedback from our customers as well as market research has told us that an internet sales channel would prove very popular and financially effective,” said Kevin Hawes, resources manager at ARC. “We are very pleased to have worked with Pindar to design and create a gift and accessories website that will help us generate additional funds for the charity. We picked Pindar because of their internet experience for cataloguers and the work they had done with our fulfilment company.”
