The core accessibility functionality in Immediacy WCMs 6.0 “is the key factor in a new partnership”, says Justin Cooke of Fortune Cookie.

Immediacy, part of the Mediasurface group and Europe’s leading CMS provider, and Fortune Cookie, one of the UK’s leading digital agencies, have announced a partnership to deliver accessible content management to Fortune Cookie’s growing roster of travel, leisure and financial retail clients, that includes Legal & General and Kuoni.

Fortune Cookie is one of only a handful of UK digital design agencies to put usability by disabled people at the heart of its design process, and has won more RNIB awards for creating accessible web sites for its clients than any other digital agency.

Launched in December 2007, immediacy WCMs 6.0 includes specific features to help with accessibility, including a built-in Compliance Checker to ensure that sites remain conformant with international web accessibility guidelines (including the WCAG 1.0) and in keeping with key legislation and regulations (such as PAS 78 and the DDA). The accessibility features in Immediacy WCMs 6.0 were a key factor in cementing the partnership.

“We’re really pleased to have signed an agreement with a partner of Fortune Cookie’s calibre”

Matt Goode, Sales Director, Immediacy.

Justin Cooke, Managing Director of Fortune Cookie said, “We’re very excited about the partnership with Immediacy. The 1995 Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) has placed a legal duty on our clients to ensure that disabled people can use the web sites we create on their behalf. We were looking for a content management solution for our clients that would enable them to deliver and manage content to the highest standards of accessibility. Immediacy’s content management solution ticks all our clients’ boxes; the CMS is easy to use, the company offers great support and accessibility checking is built in.”

Immediacy specializes in developing sophisticated web content management software, enabling non-technical users to create and manage content, carry out administrative tasks and add functionality across web sites, intranets and extranets.

“We’re really pleased to have signed an agreement with a partner of Fortune Cookie’s calibre” said Matt Goode, Sales Director for Immediacy. “Ensuring content is accessible takes innovative technology and extremely high levels of market awareness and integration expertise. Fortune Cookie delivers on these requirements and we’re looking forward to tackling new projects with them in the near future.”

Immediacy provides its web content management system to a wide range of UK companies including the BBC, Principality Building Society, British Transport Police, The British Council, National Express, The Hilton Group, Equal Opportunities Commission, Amicus Trade Union, British Gypsum, MerseyCare NHS Trust and numerous local authorities.
