The Institute, which represents trademark professionals in the UK and Europe appointed Aardvark Media to re-develop their website after a competitive tender.

We worked closely with their key staff to identify the requirements of the re-developed site and compiled these, along with a detailed functional brief into a project specification. Once agreed, the dedicated Aardvark Media development team was able to speed the development phase without recourse to the ITMA.

The new site has been developed to place the customer at the heart of the experience, in this case the customer is actually two distinct types of user; members and those members of the public that are concerned with intellectual property, copyright and trademarks.

To help the general public we introduced a friendly, helpful navigation with clear text styling and clear call-to-actions. We also improved the members search feature so that it's now very easy to find a trademark attorney by name, county, town or postcode.

For Members we've introduced a secure area where they can access research documents, videos, modify their personal details and pay securely online for events.

Behind the site there is a secure administration area where staff with appropriate permission can manage users and content. We've also tied in a neat content administration tool whereby an administrator who is logged in at the front-end can simply double-click on any page to be taken through to it's appropriate management page in the administration area.

The re-launch is part of a series of phased projects to enhance the commercial and operational efficiencies of the Institute and support it in a more competitive marketplace through a greater online focus.
