Zattoo launches latest UK channel line-up

London, 14 March, 2008 – Zattoo, the live TV to PC platform, officially launched its latest UK channel line-up today, extending on its existing range of channels such as Channel Four, BBC Three and Bloomberg.

From today, the following mainstream and specialist channels will also be available for free via the live Zattoo IPTV player: Channel 5, AutoMoto TV, The Poker Channel, Information TV, Russia TV, Community Channel, France 24 (in French).

Alexandra Illes, country manager, Zattoo UK said, “The introduction of these new channels on to the Zattoo player offers users access to an increased selection of TV entertainment via their PC or laptop.

We are committed to providing the most reliable and assorted live IPTV player and we are constantly looking to partner with new broadcasters to extend our entertainment offering.”

Zattoo delivers a live stream, so that the viewing schedule for its channels runs simultaneous with that of TV, making it ideal for viewing live news and sports. Zattoo is accessible through a simple one-off download of its software player via The player has been developed so it is as close to watching TV as possible, including a newly introduced Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) and Channel Manager.

The EPG allows people to plan what they want to watch all from the Zattoo player, cancelling the need to refer to channel listings in a newspaper or website. It’s a useful feature as it also includes content summaries and further information about each show. The Channel Manager offers users the chance to control their channel list and hide channels that they’re not interested in.

“Changing channels on Zattoo is as easy as using a remote control and the introduction of our EPG and Channel Manager has made it an even more complete IPTV experience.” Illes continued.

Zattoo was founded in the US in 2005 and successfully launched in Switzerland the following year. Since then, the virtual television network has expanded into eight European countries and will also be available in the US later this year. In this short period of time, Zattoo has attracted over 1.8 million users and is growing at a rapid pace.
