A Nottingham based Internet marketer has been asked to speak at a Northampton conference next month. Susan Hallam, managing director of Hallam Communications (www.shcl.co.uk), will be passing on her extensive experience of the Internet to show how Internet Marketing can indeed be done ‘on a shoestring’.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing has announced details of its regional conference it has organised specifically for the owners and managers of small businesses. Taking place near Northampton on 22 April, the conference will feature three marketing experts and a best-selling author. Bookings are now open.

Described as an ‘unmissable opportunity for small business leaders and practitioners’ the conference is ideal for those seeking new inspiration to improve their company’s sales and profitability. It is supported by Business Link East Midlands. With three of the speakers discussing marketing methods which save budget, the conference could prove a competitive tool in restrained economic times.

During the morning conference, four key topics will be presented.

Firstly Richard Allsop, national co-ordinator of The Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Small Business Group, will be revealing the secrets of targeting profitable customers as a part of best marketing practices.

Peter Crowe, director of Ceres Partnership, specialists in consumer and business-to-business PR and marketing, will be putting his 30 years of PR and marketing experience behind a useful presentation that will pass on tips to promote businesses through PR.

Tips for budget-busting Internet marketing will passed on by Susan Hallam, whose knowledge and experience gained over the last 25 years has embraced first hand emerging Internet technologies, Internet marketing, and content management systems.

Also speaking will be Grant Leboff, a top-selling author who will be explaining why selling doesn’t work anymore, and what you can do instead. All delegates will receive a free copy of his latest book, entitled Sales Therapy® Effective Selling for the Small Business Owner. The book was in the Top 10 Amazon bestseller list when it was published in October last year, and was one of the best-selling books of 2007.
