EAST, the women’s clothing designer and retailer, has launched its first transactional e-commerce site, designed and built by Pindar Graphics, the e-commerce and multi-channel services provider.

EAST is an established women’s fashion retailer for clothing, jewellery and accessories. EAST now has 77 outlets, with 52 stores and 22 concessions, including 18 John Lewis concessions. EAST’s products are heavily influenced by the time honoured traditions of the Far East incorporating embroideries, evocative prints and vibrant colours to create distinctive outfits. Its soft, natural fabrics include knitwear, silks and linens.

The new site features:

• Women’s clothing, accessories & jewellery
• Shop by product, range and colour
• Lifestyle and product photography
• Back office integration for order processing and stock availability
• Store locator
• Next working day delivery & free returns
• Press information
• Full content management
• Online promotional and campaign tools
• Integrated with Google Analytics
• Secure online ordering

Andrew Webb, EAST’s chief executive, said the aim for the website is to become EAST’s biggest store. "For most retailers, their website is their best-performing store within 18 months, I don’t see it being any different for EAST. Our customers are happy to research and shop online, but they are also concerned about the speed of delivery and the quality of the packing. We’ve worked to make the end-to-end experience simple, reliable and fast." The website is already performing well ahead of expectations and EAST is continuing to invest in building awareness amongst its existing retail customers.
