May 15th 2008 LeadPoint, the world’s first lead exchange marketplace has revealed that the number of consumers missing mortgage repayments is on the increase.

“We compared over 20,000 remortgage leads sold in March and April and there has been a small but significant increase in the number of consumers who have missed a payment on their remortgage in the last 12 months,” said Nick Chapman LeadPoint UK Managing Director. “In March, less than 12% of consumers had missed one or more payments and this had increased to almost 13% in April. Our analysis confirms that things are getting a lot tougher for consumers in the current market and will continue to do so over the coming months. The good news is that LeadPoint lead buyers can choose whether or not they want these types of consumer. Lead buyers can filter by credit grade and any consumer that has missed one or more payments immediately becomes a sub prime lead. Brokers can simply choose to buy prime leads if they don’t want these consumers.”

LeadPoint currently trades Mortgage, Loan, Private Medical Insurance, Debt Management & IVA leads, with Protection leads due to be launched by the end of the month. Brokers can create a LeadPoint account for free and start buying leads within a matter of minutes after signing up. LeadPoint allows brokers to generate new business as well as compliment their existing business by getting into new markets.

“In the current market, lead generation really comes into its own. It enables brokers to filter out the customers that they don’t want. One of the most important filters for lead buyers at present is to be able to get prime consumers. In addition to other filters such as choosing the maximum LTV, lead generation offers brokers a cost effective and efficient way to source new business in a difficult market.”

LeadPoint’s technology brings buyers and sellers together in a truly unbiased marketplace. The company ensures a fair exchange by monitoring lead quality and customers themselves.
