Leading home shopping retailer, Findel Direct will be holding a seminar titled ‘Findel Direct looks towards e-commerce success through search and merchandising’ at Internet World’s e-Commerce and Connectivity theatre at 2pm on Wednesday, 30th April 2008. Findel Direct has recently adopted Mercado’s solution as part of a major upgrade of its online functionality. Tim Broughton, Findel Direct’s IT Director will be talking about their journey through e-Commerce, focusing on how search and merchandising is key to their online trading success.

Tim Broughton will provide information and insight into Findel’s experience in e-tail and will discuss the issues and challenges they faced on different and older platforms, the growing importance of search and merchandising in the world of e-Commerce as well as their plans to accommodate multiple brands within one solution from Mercado.

According to Tim Broughton, “We want to focus on our customers’ shopping journey. Today visitors need to find exactly what they want very quickly, or they will go elsewhere. This is why we are concentrating on site search and navigation, combined with merchandising which allows us to highlight any relevant promotions. By doing this, we are able to provide our customers with a hassle-free shopping experience, whilst differentiating ourselves from our competitors.

“Mercado was an easy choice for us to make. Their focus on retail is exceedingly important to us and their product allowed us to make the necessary changes to our merchandising strategies without IT support. Their impressive portfolio of UK retail brands made us confident that with Mercado, we are on the path to a new level of success in the world of e-Commerce”, he adds.

Findel Direct is one of the many UK brands that have chosen to adopt Mercado’s merchandising expertise, alongside other large and small UK retail brands such as American Golf , Arcadia, Argos, Charles Tyrwhitt, JD Sports, Majestic Wines, Stylo Ted Baker, The Cotswold Company, UK Digital and 118 Golf.

Rich Beattie, Vice President of Mercado Europe said, ‘Internet World is one of the biggest and most important business exhibitions of the year. We look forward to sharing our customer experiences and knowledge of searchandising with attendees and hope that we will be able to help them enhance their own e-Commerce strategies”.
