London, UK: Friday 13th June 2008: Pigsback.com, the online community which rewards its members for interacting with brands, today announced the appointment of its new UK managing director, Gareth Lambe. Lambe has been involved with Pigsback.com since its launch in 2000, where he led the marketing division for the Ireland branch before assuming full client and revenue responsibility in 2003, as Ireland MD. More recently, he was based in Canada where he oversaw the successful Pigsback pilot project in Canada.

Michael Dwyer, co-founder and CEO of Pigsback.com said, “Gareth has helped create a very successful operation in Ireland to the point where we now have a 20% share of the online display market. He is the perfect man to help replicate this success in the UK. His significant FMCG marketing and business development expertise is exactly what we need at this juncture of the business.”

Since the beginning of the year, Pigsback.com has trebled the amount of FMCG brands working with them in the UK and it hopes to see this increase fivefold by Christmas. More brands are recognising Pigsback.com as a way to improve their engagement with their core consumers leading to incredibly high levels of interaction and subsequently a better return on investment.

With the increase of ‘banner ad blindness’, Pigsback.com can offer brands a new and alternative marketing solution to engage with a target audience.

Gareth Lambe, managing director of Pigsback.com UK said, “Pigsback.com succeeds - where others don't - in creating an environment where consumers are seeking content, based on consumer brands, notably FMCG brands. Pigsback.com has more than half a million active members who are willing to engage with these brands in meaningful ways, such as branded competitions, coupons, sample requests, brand features, campaign research, driving traffic to brand sites and registration campaigns.”

“Ultimately, we don’t want to interrupt people in their online experience. Every page impression aims to be a meaningful interaction with a brand. My focus this year is to demonstrate to brands and agencies out there why our solutions work.” Lambe continued.

Lambe began his career in New York, and later cut his teeth in the FMCG world of Pernod Ricard for several years, primarily on the Jameson Irish Whiskey brand.
