Stockport-based MICAD Systems, who provide Internet systems for estates, facilities and property professionals has recently completed an extensive data collection and entry exercise at Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham PCTs. The three PCTs cater for in excess of 1,000,000 people. The facility management services provides for in excess of 60 buildings totalling some 99,000 square meters.
The central database system was needed to support a myriad of data and information from CAD drawings, space management data, comprehensive property appraisal surveys, asbestos register and Payment by Results (PbR).
The Lambeth Southwark and Lewisham (LSL) PCT project was to merge their existing infrastructure and integrating technical systems, MICAD, together with their partner programme (Topscan Nifes Consulting, Inventures and Thames Laboratories) were able to successfully develop, interpret and integrate a system that is managed remotely through MICAD’s IPR (Intranet Property Register).
The primary function of the Internet site is to provide a platform that can deliver information on various facets of the Trusts through specialist software.
MICAD, worked closely with the Director of Estates and Facilities at Lambeth Southwark and Lewisham PCTs – Debbie Carson, who commented:
“Working with MICAD and their professional Partners has made a huge difference to how the Trusts’ can empower their individual departments in the creation, delivery and management of their information.
This is absolutely critical. Enabling our organisations to move away from the centralised control of the traditional management approach has improved efficiency to a level I didn’t think could be achieved within the timeframe.”
She went on to say, “Of equal importance was MICAD’s pledge of client satisfaction which was never compromised. The most important part of their remit is to be readily available in supporting and assisting us for as long as it takes to provide answers and support – all day every day!”
MICAD spends a significant amount of money on research and development for both existing and new programmes. Client input is paramount and forms an integral part of the development program.
MICAD were founded in 1988, a team of multi-disciplined professionals focus on providing intranet systems for estates, facilities and property management. Working with large estate owners such as NHS Trusts, Universities and Large Corporates. MICAD work closely with all clients to develop web-ready database solutions that address the wider picture of data sharing, technical document publishing and strategic estates management and facilities information.
