***Service from Trafficmaster and Integrated Mobile Technologies masters the roads***
Orange, the UK’s most popular mobile phone service has launched the RAC Traffic-i, a live visual traffic information service developed by Trafficmaster and Integrated Mobile Technologies, on Orange World.
RAC Traffic-i is available on Orange World, for seven handsets to date: the Orange SPV E200, the Nokia 6600, 7650, 3650 and N-gage models and the Sony Ericsson P800 and P900.
The service incorporates five levels of zoom so users can view any specific area of interest and can make informed decisions on what route to take based on current traffic conditions. The handset display shows traffic problems on a scrolling map and depicts the delay in minutes and miles per hour. RAC Traffic-i can be used to bookmark locations, which can be recalled simply and quickly as a default when users initially access the RAC Traffic-i service.
Gavin Shurmer, Head of Mobile Utility Content and Services, at Orange, says:
“RAC Traffic-i demonstrates how Orange can, through the use of its Orange World Portal, enable its customers to access the best applications available in the market today. RAC Traffic-i is an excellent service, which enables Orange customers to simply and easily access reliable high quality traffic information displayed in a clear graphical form. The end result ? Our customers stay “mobile” !
Stuart Berman, Chief Operating Officer at Trafficmaster, comments:
“The future certainly looks bright for Traffic-i, as it signs up yet another deal with a major network provider. Orange proves to be one of the leaders within its market and is continuing to expand. On the back of this we look forward to reaping further success with Traffic-i.”
Ian Tomson-Smith, Sales & Marketing Director of IM Technologies, adds:
“The RAC Traffic-i service has been successful, as it appeals to both the network operators and consumer alike. Not only in the groundbreaking way it initiates GPRS usage amongst the phone user looking for more than just ringtones and wallpaper, but by the simply way it makes everyone’s lives a lot less stressful!
