AOL’s Platform-A today announced that Glasses Direct will utilize two of Platform-A’s advertising solutions in an advertising campaign to increase brand awareness and drive sales of glasses on their website, http://GlassesDirect.co.uk The online retailer has booked CPA marketing on two Platform-A advertising networks -- Advertising.com, one of the world’s largest third-party advertising networks, and buy.at, a leading affiliate network that provides a platform for performance-based e-commerce marketing programs to advertisers and publishers. Glasses Direct, the largest global direct retailer of custom-made prescription glasses, enables customers to make online purchases with the help, advice and approval of registered opticians.

Platform-A’s Advertising.com will manage the display advertising campaign for Glasses Direct by building brand awareness through targeted activity on Advertising.com’s extensive network of third-party publisher sites. Consumers who have visited Glasses Direct but have not made a purchase will be retargeted across the network.

Advertising through Platform-A’s buy.at will also increase brand recognition and drive sales through a range of affinity sites, voucher affiliates, search affiliates and niche content affiliates managed by buy.at. Activity will be tracked using buy.at’s management area, which shows overall activity and detailed analysis, including regional sales, individual affiliate sales and product sales.

“From its launch in 2004, Glasses Direct has captilised on the power of the Internet, and its online marketing campaign is no exception,” said Brendan Condon, Managing Director of Platform-A International. “By working with Platform-A’s leading advertising and affiliate networks, Glasses Direct will be able to expand its consumer reach, build brand awareness and drive sales. It is a very cost-effective strategy that will let Glasses Direct continue to keep costs low while adding value to its customers.”

“Working with Platform-A will allow us to manage two vital channels of our online campaign through a single point of contact, as well as deliver a tightly managed and integrated strategy,” said Phil Gates, Marketing Director at Glasses Direct. “The combined weight of Advertising.com and buy.at will give us the reach, inventory and technology to engage high-volume audiences.”
