Snow Valley, the e-commerce consultancy and technology solutions provider, has launched an e-commerce resourcing service.

Snow Valley E-commerce Resourcing is a new offering available to retailers and other organisations that need assistance in finding talented staff to help them run and expand their e-commerce operations.

The service will help e-commerce managers to find both permanent team members and staff required for short-term contracts.

The company has hired experienced recruiter Laura Strasdin to head up the new service.

Snow Valley E-commerce Resourcing has been launched at a time when recruitment is becoming harder for e-commerce departments. In a 2008 digital marketing study by e-consultancy, 75% of the e-commerce directors interviewed said that finding suitable staff was a challenge, compared with 60% that said the same thing in 2005.

“E-commerce departments are growing in size and in scope,” said Strasdin. “Team structures are evolving and skill sets are changing and it can be very hard for HR managers to know where to find the right candidates to fill the roles. Most recruitment agencies don’t understand the e-commerce ecosystem, which means that the hiring process takes longer and is more time-consuming for the e-commerce manager.”

“Snow Valley has been specialising in e-commerce for 10 years. We already offer the technical, design, and marketing services to help our clients grow their businesses as effectively as possible and resourcing is a natural extension of our portfolio.”
