London, 29 September 2008: ioko, a technology firm specialising in designing, building and running world-class IT platforms on behalf of large, global Media and Entertainment enterprises, was yesterday listed in the Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100, an independently commissioned survey which charts the progress of unquoted technology companies each year. Touted as one of the UK’s fastest growing technical companies, the firm is taking the media sector by storm as it expands into international markets.

Joint global CEO and co-founder, Mark Christie says, ‘It’s great to receive this recognition for our achievements. David Griffiths and I have spent the past eleven years building ioko into one of the world's leading digital media specialists. We have achieved this by building a team of committed people, developing long term collaborative relationships with our customers and our specialist expertise in the digital media sector.”

The 300 strong team has designed, built and managed some of the largest and most complex media platforms in Europe and has developed and managed a number of industry firsts for some of the biggest names in the business: Channel 4, BskyB and ITV. Other clients include News International, EA Games and Vimpelcom.

ioko’s success in the UK has led to international expansion. The company opened an office in Southern California in January and is opening an office in New York later this year. In line with this, its staff base has grown by 40% in under a year, as it embraces some of the most dynamic media briefs around the world.

North American CEO, Scott Sahadi says, ‘This is excellent validation for ioko’s success and we look forward to achieving similar recognition as we grow the North American market. The needs of major media and entertainment companies are specialized and, as a global services firm, we bring a unique set of experiences and expertise to help these firms design, build and launch on their strategic technology platforms across web, mobile and television. “

The Tech Track listing comes hot on the heels of another award as ioko was ranked as the leading technical agency in the New Media Age Top 100 Interactive Agencies report for 2008, coming 9th overall in the top one hundred agency listing.
