A new online shop that will help businesses avoid bad debt is being launched by South Wales-based Creditsafe, the business credit information experts.

The service, currently being developed by web-based solutions provider, www.fusionworkshop.com (Fusion Workshop), based in Cardiff, enables businesses to instantly access credit reports for Limited and Non-Limited Companies as well as company directors on a one-off pay-as-you-go basis. This will be a new addition to Creditsafe’s existing subscription service.

The service enables customers to find company details and instantly buy financial reports, delivered in a PDF format. These can then be used to help businesses and consumers alike make informed decisions on who to do business with. This will also help businesses reduce their exposure to risk and protect their cashflow in these uncertain times.

Creditsafe, which currently provides credit information for 25,000 subscription customers across the UK, is introducing this service as part of its strategy to provide companies with business-critical information, thereby helping them vet their customers and suppliers better.

David Knowles, Group Marketing Director at Creditsafe said: “The current economic climate means that vetting the creditworthiness of suppliers and potential clients has become more critical than ever before. The development and launch of our new online shop solution in partnership with Fusion Workshop is an exciting development for Creditsafe as we move into a new and complementary market and we expect this to add a different dimension to our business, which has grown consistently over the last eight years.

“By partnering with Fusion Workshop, which is highly experienced in the development of web-based business solutions, we are assured of providing our users with an online shop window which not only gets them the information they want quickly, but also securely.”

Commenting on the development Chris Short, Managing Director at Fusion Workshop said: “As with all major financial services businesses, having access to accurate data without compromising data security is vitally important. Creditsafe wanted to enhance its existing credit information offering whilst offering up-to-date information within a totally secure environment. The development of this online shop will help Creditsafe achieve this.”

The new application will be based around integration with a new Web CMS (Content Management System), Immediacy, for which Fusion Workshop holds Gold Partner status. Use of Immediacy will help Creditsafe expand its user base by complying with strict accessibility standards and following best practice in search engine optimisation.

Over the next few weeks the Creditsafe shop will undergo extensive testing to ensure that it meets all its functional objectives without compromising users’ personal data. The functionality will be delivered by a .NET application in the Immediacy web CMS and will integrate with existing systems using webservices.

The next phase of development will allow Creditsafe customers to be alerted when a change is made to a report they have previously purchased, giving them fully up-to-date financial and credit information.

Ends.
