Exclusive salon group located in Harrods and Harvey Nichols asks customers to post stories surrounding products and services they’ve bought to help drive sales & customer engagement.

Urban Retreat, which has salons at four key sites including Harrods in London, Harvey Nichols Manchester and T1 at Heathrow, is introducing Bazaarvoice Stories to its website.

The technology, which enables people to share stories related to their purchases, has been implemented on UrbanRetreat.co.uk to encourage salon customers to talk about their experiences.
“Our ultimate aim is to build a community,” said Jason Russell, General Manager of Beautique.com; Urban Retreat’s online retail site. “The content from these stories will build brand engagement and loyalty, while helping to drive salon sales.”

Beautique.com, Urban Retreat’s online retail sister website, recently implemented customer ratings and reviews to help the site evolve into a content-led beauty portal. Customers will be invited to review their purchases, which in turn will also aid buying decisions and grow sales.

“We want to make Beautique.com and Urban Retreat online seamless as brands, and introducing Bazaarvoice’s social commerce services to each website will allow customers to review products and share experiences in both environments,” Russell continued.

Sam Decker, Chief Marketing Officer at Bazaarvoice added: “Bazaarvoice Stories will help Urban Retreat interact with its customers and really understand what they enjoy about their experiences at the salons. It’s about engaging website visitors, not just informing them.”
