PriceRunner.co.uk is today announcing its decision to bring together its European teams under one leader. Formally, Company Manager for PriceRunner Sweden, Peter Carlsson has now been appointed as General Manager for the impartial price comparison site.

Carlsson has held commercial and general management roles for PriceRunner since 2004, when he first joined PriceRunner Sweden as European Sales Director. In 2005, Peter was then promoted to Country Manager for the Nordic region for ValueClick, where he has been responsible for the overseeing of the Nordic operations for PriceRunner, Commission Junction and ValueClick Media.

In his post in Sweden, Carlsson has been vital in the successful implementation of Commission Junction and ValueClick Media divisions in the Nordic regions; Sweden and Denmark. All three businesses, namely PriceRunner, have developed considerably over the last three years and have almost doubled in revenue as a result.

Carl White, CEO, ValueClick Europe, comments, “The timing is now right to bring the European teams together under one leader. This will help us to focus and co-ordinate our commercial and marketing activities right across Europe. Peter has earned great respect from all the country teams so this is a natural progression to take PriceRunner forward as a whole, and we will particularly benefit from his expert knowledge in the UK.”

Talking about his appointment, Carlsson comments, “Both in UK and Sweden we have worked hard to develop the sites by listening to our consumers, constantly adding in new categories according to public interest. I’m looking forward to leveraging on what we do best in each the respective country and together with our UK team take PriceRunner to the same market leader position we have in Sweden. PriceRunner has carved a distinctive position amongst consumers for always finding the lowest price irrespective of commercial influences.”

Mattias Berg leaves PriceRunner this month to move onto new ventures. White comments, “We wish Mattias all the best in the future and thank him for his successes in this time at PriceRunner.”
