The British Council is calling for bids from exceptional business suppliers to develop and deliver its online platform for promoting UK education opportunities to a global audience.

This presents a significant opportunity for suppliers to boost their worldwide profile, work with the UK’s leading international education exchange and promotion organisation and help maintain the UK’s global position as a pre-eminent provider of higher education.

Marketing UK education is a core activity for the British Council. It is one of the main ways in which it supports the UK’s economy: championing an export sector worth an estimated £12.5bn p.a. to the UK economy .

The British Council has recently embarked on an extensive strategic development project to improve its core Education UK-branded communications channels to provide an inspirational, helpful and impartial guide to opportunities and benefits of a UK education.

The British Council is now looking to engage an exceptional supplier, or suppliers, to develop and deliver three critical components of the renewed offer:

• web development, hosting and management;
• data collection and database management; and
• management of advertising sales.

To ensure success, the British Council is looking for individual suppliers or consortia with demonstrable expertise in each of these areas. To maximise this potential, the British Council will accept proposals for supply of individual, some or all components. The British Council is particularly interested in suppliers who can demonstrate an ability to work as part of a wider team to achieve a common goal.
