London, November 17, 2004 - LB Icon (UK), the No.1 New Media Agency* and the UK’s largest consultancy specialising in enterprise and Web-based applications, is partnering with Vignette, the efficiency experts, to deliver real business benefits to customers. The company is showcasing two customer successes, at Corus and Ofsted, at Vignette Village in London (Nov 17-19).

Richard Evans, Head of Strategic Alliances, LB Icon (UK), said: “We are proud of our vendor-agnostic approach, but we believe it is important to get ‘underneath the skin’ of the leading software vendors and their technologies. As a Vignette Executive Consulting Partner, we work closely with clients to define business vision, online business goals and strategy to deliver optimum solutions for Internet sites, intranets, extranets and portals using Vignette technology. Vignette’s information management and delivery solutions for improved business efficiency, combined with our in-depth technology, integration and implementation experience, deliver real business value to our customers.”

At Corus, one of the world’s largest metal producers, a key requirement was for staff to be able to edit Web content in-house. LB Icon (UK) undertook a thorough evaluation of over 40 content management systems, and shortlisted two, including Vignette V7 Content Management. ‘Vignette was the best solution because it met all of our requirements and was a good fit for our ‘best practice’ approach,’ explained Maria Harris, new media manager at Corus.

Ofsted was seeking a new content management system to enable staff to create and manage content for its intranet, as well as integrate with existing document management and human resource systems. "LB Icon (UK) was in a unique position to provide independent professional advice on a best fit between Ofsted's needs and the wide range of potential CMS solutions available,” said Greg Kerchhoff, Ofsted’s Web Service Manager. Following this process, Vignette Content Management was selected by Ofsted as the solution that would best meet their current and future requirements, including the future redevelopment of the Ofsted website.
