Independent search marketing agency Greenlight has been awarded Two Star Status by the Best Companies Accreditation system, marking the company out as ‘outstanding’.

Established six years ago, Best Companies Accreditation awards an elite ‘Michelin style’ star rating system for organisations that demonstrate high levels of employee engagement. Based on staff feedback, each company receives an index score that determines their star status. Best Companies also develops the ‘Best Companies to Work For’ lists, which are published annually in The Sunday Times.

Greenlight will now feature in the Best Companies Guide, which will carry profiles of all accredited companies. The guide will be available through universities, libraries, careers offices and recruitment centres. The agency will also feature on the Best Companies Guide website.

Warren Cowan, CEO and founder of Greenlight said: “Being awarded star status by Best Companies is a great honour as it is based on staff feedback and so reflects what employees feel about the agency. To come this far as an independent, bootstrap business is a true testament of our unfailing commitment. We now look forward to the continued natural growth and success of the company.”

Jonathan Austin, founder and CEO of Best Companies said: “I would like to congratulate Greenlight on their outstanding achievement. Our role at Best Companies is to set a rigorous benchmark so that organisations can become even better employers. This year it is encouraging to see that the number of companies entering the accreditation scheme for excellence in workplace engagement has grown by over twenty percent."

This achievement follows Greenlight’s success in the 2008 Sunday Times Tech Track 100, where the agency was ranked as the 21st fastest growing private technology company in the UK.
