Keane-Dawson joins Steak as UK MD

Steak, the search-inspired communications agency, has significantly bolstered its management team with the appointment of Mary Keane-Dawson as UK Managing Director. Mary will be responsible for the day-to-day running of UK operations including overseeing current client campaigns, prospecting for new business and managing staff recruitment and retention.

Mary, who initially worked as a consultant at Steak in the summer of 2008, joined the agency following 18 months in China as Chief Marketing Officer at GlobalCast Networks, a digital media start-up; prior to that she was Worldwide MD of WPP-owned Spafax. Mary has 20 years of media agency experience in both business development and account management roles. Her previous clients include Ford, American Express, British Airways and Marks & Spencer.

Commenting on the hire, Steak Group CEO Oliver Bishop, said, “We’re delighted to be welcoming Mary on board. She has invaluable experience leading companies operating in new and exciting media formats. As UK MD she will be pivotal to the growth of the Steak brand and continuing the high levels of service our clients have come to expect.”

Alongside Mary’s appointment, Steak has created a new Client Services team to streamline client handling across multiple formats. A newly-formed Search & Media team, led by Neil Stickells who moves from his position as Head of SEO, will continue to deliver Steak’s bespoke, award-winning client campaigns.
