Asos have proved Supply Chain Excellence through their implementation and use of MetaPack for the management of their deliveries. The award sponsored by The Home Delivery Network is set to judge supply chain excellence through a new initiative that is delivering tangible results.

Asos has become the UK’s leading online fashion and beauty retailer attracting an average of 5.3 million unique visitors to the site each month and in August 2008 they implemented MetaPack carrier management system to support this exceptional business growth. As a pure play e-tail business, the importance of fast, successful parcel management is imperative to them to ensure their customers receive orders quickly.

MetaPack’s solution provided this and more. Their tangible results were vast and varied, from improvement in delivery times, increasing first time delivery success, automatic delivery status emails sent to customers reducing call-ins and dissatisfaction, and improved visibility for the customer care team.

The real test of the system, though, was over the Christmas period where they experienced a 108% uplift in sales aided by the fact that they were able to take orders for Christmas until 4pm on Tuesday 23rd December. Through MetaPack’s improved delivery management efficiencies all orders were dispatched using the best available carrier by 9.30pm on 23rd December in readiness for an assured delivery before Christmas day.
