CheezeDMG is ramping up its business development resource with the appointment of Denise Turner to the newly created role of business development director.

Reporting to managing director Matt O’Brien, Turner will be supported by business development manager Tom Griffiths and will work from the agency’s new London offices shared with fellow DMG agency, CyberDMG.

O’Brien said of Turner’s appointment, “Denise’s digital marketing credentials speak for themselves and she also has a very sound commercial acumen. Having had a great start to the year, including our appointment as digital agency to Oxfam, Denise will play a pivotal role in building on this momentum to help us achieve our growth plans.”

Turner brings over 15 years worth of strategic multi-disciplinary consultancy experience to the role. She joins from digital agency Cimex where she was commercial director for nine years. With responsibility for business development, sales, PR, marketing, recruitment and staff development, Turner helped grow the agency to a staff of sixty with a turnover of £4million.

In 1993 Turner joined Design and Art as client partner and general manager. Seven years later, with clients including Channel 4, BBC and Glaxo Wellcome, she and her partner sold the business to Westhill Communications. She then spent the next two years as West Hill Communications’ Client Services Director, during which she added digital to the agency’s services and helped win a place on rosters including BT, the Home Office and the Department of Health.

The early part of Turner’s career was spent as an account director at integrated agency KVO Associates, and as an account manager at PR agency, Porter Novelli.

Turner said of joining CheezeDMG, “As part of DMG, CheezeDMG is ideally placed to deliver the constant innovation, audience insight, channel integration and return on investment that marketers want from their digital marketing. I’m naturally excited to be joining the agency to help grow the business through both new and existing clients.”
