AKQA has appointed Michael de Kare-Silver Managing Director Europe. Michael was previously Managing Director of Modem Media Europe. Michael will be based at the agency’s London office and his official start date is 20 December.

Michael was the first e-commerce director on the board of a FTSE 100 company at Great Universal Stores. He is the author of four management books, including the best-selling "e-shock". He is also a visiting professor at Middlesex University Business School.
Having read Law at Cambridge University, he went on to qualify as a commercial lawyer and began his career with the law firm Slaughter and May. Michael then joined Procter & Gamble. Working in sales, marketing and brand management, he was responsible for several new product launches across Europe. Michael went on to work as a consultant with McKinsey and then founded the Kalchas consultancy.
