Leading global affiliate network Commission Junction is today announcing its partnership with FusePump Limited, the feeds specialist, to revolutionise feed distribution across the Commission Junction network.

FusePump has worked with Commission Junction to develop the CJ Feed Creator for the UK, which is a new product designed specifically for Commission Junction’s advertisers and affiliates which will allow all affiliates to manipulate merchant product feeds in a variety of different formats. It gives affiliates the opportunity to re-order the data to suit the unique requirements of their site. Merchants TUI, Sainsbury’s and Flybe are the first advertisers to sign up and are now live with this new product.

Alison Guise, General Manager, Commission Junction and Mediaplex Europe, said: “This new development is designed to make the channel of affiliate marketing even more profitable for both advertisers and affiliates. There have been situations where affiliates have not been able to engage with some of our merchants because of the differences in their data coding. Others could engage but found that the feeds could be disjointed, and required a lot of manual work on all sides. It’s a problem across the industry as a whole, but we decided it was time to solve it.’

Affiliates and merchants will now have the option to obtain and develop feeds using a self-service distribution platform, which has a simple four-step process:

1. Create new feed configurations or re-use ones they have already created
2. Filter by attributes available in the feed. e.g. category, keywords, price
3. Choose which file format they want to use
4. Create a fixed URL which can be used to update the affiliate site.

FusePump has already started working alongside affiliates including Shopping.com, Offer of the Day and Twenga, to develop the bespoke platform to match their needs.

Rick Harris, Founder, Offer of the Day, said: “As an affiliate I want to be able to choose the fields for data feeds to make them specific to my needs. To be able to split them into sub-feeds would save me a great hassle, and to have a static URL would be great. The CJ Feed Creator will enable me and other affiliates to spend more time on generating revenue and will allow me to promote a wider range of merchants.”

Charlie Ranger, Affiliate Manager, TUI, said: “The CJ Feed Creator in the UK is a great product and we are delighted to be able to offer this to the affiliates on our programme. In the travel industry it’s crucial for us to get offers and flight updates out there daily. By simplifying the feeds process for our affiliates, we’re making their lives much easier, which in turn should continue to improve the performance of our programme.”

Lee Brignall-Cash, Co-Founder and COO, FusePump Limited, said: “We are delighted to see this project taking off so successfully, we have already had such a great uptake from Commission Junction’s merchants. Getting the feeds right sounds like such a simple objective, but across the affiliate industry it’s a real eye-opener to see that until now no one has managed to offer a solution for everyone. When you see the problems that this can cause affiliates, resulting in lost revenue for both affiliates and advertisers, only then can you begin to understand just how important this is.. Our job is to make it easy for the affiliates to use high-quality feeds, meaning that both merchants and affiliates can generate more revenue. ”
