AKQA announced today that it will open a New York office. Lars Bastholm, the award winning Creative Director from Denmark, was named Executive Creative Director for AKQA New York.
An independent agency, AKQA has offices in London, San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Singapore. “We're delighted to announce the opening of our New York office which will complement our network," said Tom Bedecarre, CEO of AKQA. "With this office and the appointment of Lars as Executive Creative Director for it, we're in a great position to provide our clients with innovation globally.”
Previously Lars Bastholm had been working in interactive marketing for more than ten years. Most recently, he was Creative Director at the European agency Framfab. At Framfab Lars worked on some of the world’s most recognized brands, including Nike, Coca-Cola, LEGO and Carlsberg. Lars was also the Internet Jury Chairman for the 2004 Clio Awards.
"Lars is one of the most recognised creative directors in the industry, having won three Grand Prix Cyber Lions at Cannes among a host of other international awards," said Ajaz Ahmed, Chairman of AKQA. “We are delighted to welcome Lars to AKQA as part of our team.”

Prior to Framfab, Lars Bastholm launched the Grey Interactive office in Scandinavia working on leading brands such as SAS Airlines and Microsoft. Bastholm was recently featured in Ralf Langwost‘s book “How to Catch the Big Idea: The Strategy of Top Creatives”.
