Digital agency, Redweb, has appointed Carl Martin as Mobile Strategist to provide leadership, strategic direction, drive and expertise in mobile solutions. He joins the Innovation department whose recent work has included mobile application and mobile web development, as well as integrated digital campaigns.

Martin has progressed from account handler at Redweb where he has been closely involved in online strategy for clients such as Unite the Union and Identity and Passport Service (IPS). He is also the author of ‘Mobsessed’, a comprehensive online resource for mobile professionals and enthusiasts to engage, share and discuss latest industry news.

Martin gained a degree in Interactive Media Production from Bournemouth University and produced a research paper on Mobile Marketing in the UK as part of his studies.

Andrew Henning, CEO at Redweb says: “While we have traditionally based ourselves in website design and build, there have been significant developments in mobile marketing and technology this year and we are investing in the development of our expertise in this area. Our clients have recognised the value of digital communications to meet their business objectives, and by incorporating mobile into their digital offering, can help build brand awareness or even reinforce traditional customer relationship management tools. This appointment of a dedicated mobile specialist will ensure we continue to provide the full digital service to our clients.”

Carl Martin, Mobile Strategist at Redweb adds, “Mobile devices have an array of unique qualities that make them the perfect marketing tool, however businesses wishing to employ mobile as part of their digital marketing strategy must understand the issues of privacy, preference and permission before doing so. Part of my role at Redweb will be to educate clients as to how they can employ mobile in an appropriate fashion in order to reap the potential rewards. The mobile industry gets more exciting every day, and I look forward to working with clients who are just as excited about it as we are!”

This appointment is part of a strong recruitment drive across all areas of the agency to meet the current demand of business growth. Some of the new roles being filled include design, development and commercial services.
