Unite, the UK’s largest Union with more than two million members, is launching at the Labour Party conference this week its new online election campaigning tool (www.Unite4Labour.org). It is a resource that will play a crucial role in helping their members to campaign for a fourth term Labour government.

Full service digital agency – Tangent One (www.tangentone.com) - has created this tool which provides the first ever union online telephone bank in the UK. It will enable Unite members to canvass fellow Unite members in their constituency over the phone on behalf of the Labour Party during the general election campaign.

Unite4Labour.org also provides Unite members with the contact details of the Labour Party’s election campaign organisers in their region, so they can volunteer their services to drum up support amongst the electorate for the Party during the election campaign.

Unite tasked Tangent One to devise this online campaign tool after observing the success of the American United Steel Workers Union in canvassing members for Obama at the presidential primaries, the Democratic convention and presidential election campaign.
Paul Simpson, Director at Tangent One, commented: “We have devised a unique online tool which will aid Unite’s huge membership base to drum up support for Labour amongst their own members and the electorate during the general election campaign. This tool has the potential to play a particularly important role in the marginal seats where the election will be won and lost.”
