Bazaarvoice has been named ‘Technology Vendor of the Year’ at the 2009 Retail Systems Awards.

The company provides social commerce applications, including its flagship Ratings & Reviews product, to over 600 brands worldwide. Launched in the UK in January 2007, Bazaarvoice’s European team has since grown to provide social commerce expertise to the country’s leading retailers.

Of the top 50 UK online retailers, according to the IMRG and web measurement firm Hitwise’s latest statistics, 34 have reviews. 19 of these retailers are Bazaarvoice clients.

Retail Systems magazine’s ‘Technology Vendor of the Year’ award was highly contested by eight finalists, including managed services provider Clara.net and point-of-sale specialist Torex.

The annual ceremony, held last night at The Grosvenor House Hotel in central London, looked to celebrate the ‘stars of retail.’
