MediaVest Leeds, the award winning integrated media planning and buying agency, has recently promoted two of its online employees and expanded its ever growing Interactive department.

Ciaran Carmichael and Sejal Patel, both previously Interactive Assistants, have been promoted to Interactive Executives illustrating the ever increasing client need for online media strategies.

Carmichael, who has been at MediaVest for 2 years, works with clients including Jet2.com, Royal Horticultural Society and Genting Casino. His work involves devising integrated media strategies with the offline team whilst developing emerging online media such as mobile media marketing.
According to Carmichael working from a holistic viewpoint is imperative to a successful campaign. “I feel offline and online collaboration and integration is hugely affecting the world of commerce. Online media is about mass collaboration internally and externally, that’s the best way to get great results.”
Carmichael went on to highlight the importance that MediaVest places on Search. “I love the psychology behind Search and online. Users are one-step further down the ‘buyer decision process’ at the point of search, making it completely different from all other media - It is a pull strategy rather than push. MediaVest is a fantastic platform for any client to either be introduced to online, or strategically develop a complex campaign. I’m very excited about the future at MediaVest.”

Along with Carmichael, Patel now also has a number of responsibilities within her remit, including Search, Email and Social Media Marketing. With a background in Financial Analytics, Patel found Online Search to be a natural move due to the analytical requirements within Search marketing. Following her promotion, Patel went on to comment about the importance of the Search market. “The Search market is ever evolving and consequently keeping ahead of the game is vital. The importance of Search is inescapable, but the challenge is still being creative enough with ad text writing and the analysis of optimisation to attract people to a website for a conversion. It remains 90% science, 10% art.”
She went on to say “we continually benchmark ourselves against other digital agencies to ensure we stay one step ahead in terms of our process and technical abilities. By doing so we can continue to deliver our clients great results.”

MediaVest have also invested in their Analytics, Tracking and Systems department with another face from the Systems Development field. Erland Miller, a former Report Developer in the Property market joined MediaVest in the summer of 2009 and has since concentrated efforts on making advancements to MediaVest’s already impressive media tracking offering.
“It’s been a busy few months! We currently offer a database design and build service to clients, custom designed to deliver automated reports in a single view dashboard, it’s all about identifying and attributing campaign performance to individual communication channels. This is something that would otherwise be very difficult, cumbersome and time consuming to deliver using.”
Miller went on to say, “We’re developing a few bespoke tools which will help improve our offering to clients and ultimately give us greater understanding on how offline behaviour influences online action.”
