Dec 2009 – Christopher Ward, the British designer and manufacturer of “Swiss made” watches, has appointed Screen Pages (http://www.screenpages.com) to design, build and host its new transactional website, using the increasingly popular and sophisticated Magento e-commerce platform. The new e-commerce website has been launched at http://www.christopherward.co.uk.

Christopher Ward, founded in 2005, operates dedicated ateliers in the Jura, Switzerland, where watches are assembled by hand using Swiss made mechanical and quartz movements. The style of its men’s and women’s watches ranges from the quiet sophistication of its dress watches to the subtle confidence of its sports collections - with a timeless, understated quality which owes much to Christopher Ward’s English roots.

The new website – with UK & US versions managed through the same administration panel - incorporates a clean, fresh design, employing attractive and detailed photography and it combines many “best practice” e-commerce features to enrich the customer experience, boost engagement and sales conversions. It features over 300 watches, with styles including dress, aviator, dive, sport and jewelled as well as accessories and personalisation options such as engraving and gift boxes.

Since launch, website conversions (visits:orders) have improved by close to 50% and bounce rates (number of immediate exits) have reduced by a similar %.
