The RSPCA is launching its revamped Animal Welfare Footprint website ( www.animalwelfarefootprint.com ), with its popular animal welfare footprint quiz, which will be communicated using social media from this week.

Full-service digital agency, Tangent One ( www.tangentone.com ), has been tasked to make the website more interactive. As part of this activity the results of all the completed quizzes will be placed on the website – quizzes that allow consumers to calculate their animal welfare footprint and encourage them to think about animal welfare when purchasing animal based food products or when considering buying a pet.

Tangent One has also been employed to make it easy for users to communicate their quiz results and the website on their Facebook pages and twitter feeds. To achieve this the agency has added a new function to the website that allows those who take part in the quiz the opportunity to quickly and easily have their results pre-populated directly to their Facebook pages and twitter feeds, along with a weblink that will offer others the chance to complete the quiz.

Tangent has worked closely with the RSPCA to offer the opportunity for visitors to the site to download a large number of new and updated reports, research and information on animal welfare.

It is hoped that by re-launching at this time of year, when people are more open to making New Year’s resolutions and changing old habits, that interest in interacting with this site and adhering to its messages will be maximised.

The agency will strategically review the website throughout 2010 to make sure the site continues to remain highly interactive, easy to use and is successfully communicated via social media.

Helen Ball, Project Manager at the RSPCA, said:

“Tangent One is committed to devising highly creative, interactive websites that are easy for visitors to use, so it was a straightforward choice to use them to revamp our animal welfare footprint website.

“We are confident that with the changes they have made to the site, combined with the new social media function, will enable the site and quiz to be communicated far and wide in a creative and simple way. We hope that more people will consider their impacts on the welfare of animals when purchasing products, eating out and during their day to day lives.”

Nick Gillett, Managing Partner at Tangent One, comments:

“We are really pleased to be working with the RSPCA on this high profile campaign. We have brought to this project our expertise in delivering functional, on-brand, interactive sites that can be successfully communicated across social media to deliver strong awareness and response.”
