Agency ramps up planning and buying team for Pizza Hut, BAA and UK Film Council

London 15 February, 2010… Independent digital agency, Blue Barracuda, has made several new appointments in its media planning and buying team. Jonny Style and Curtis Weir join from Profero where they planned and bought media across several digital channels for clients including HBOS, Butlins, COI, FedEx and Roche. Reporting to Media Director Andrew Mason, the pair will plan and buy online advertising campaigns for Blue Barracuda’s clients including Pizza Hut, BAA, T.G.I. Friday’s and the UK Film Council which will be integrated with other media negotiated by the agency including search engine marketing, email and affiliate campaigns.

Johnny Style brings four years of marketing experience across many channels both on- and offline including two in-house roles. He spent two years at Profero planning, buying, trafficking and optimising online media campaigns for Butlins, Otto, Vonage and Roche using display and social media, search and affiliate marketing. In his three years as a digital planner at Profero, Curtis Weir worked on similar accounts as well as Western Union and Swarowski and managed the content creation for The Sun Expats, a brand partnership between News International and Halifax International. At Blue Barracuda Style and Weir will plan, buy and manage media campaigns from inception to completion including testing, analysing and optimising campaigns to ensure they exceed client expectations. Commenting on the appointments, Martin Talks, CEO of Blue Barracuda, explains, “Johnny and Curtis will be responsible for some of the major online campaigns in the travel and entertainment sector for 2010. They have worked together before, have a natural flair for analysis and their experience of multiple media channels will contribute to the holistic view of media we apply to our clients’ online strategy. We are ramping up our search activity as well in response to demand from new and existing search clients, all of which will be integrated to deliver improved performance for clients.”

Before joining Profero, Style was the digital marketing executive for Ministry of Sound and was the Marketing Manager of KWDK before that.
